Many of you have told me that our legislature has made great progress in the last two years, but believe there is still much work to be done.  I agree!  All of us are pursuing a more progressive and prosperous future while maintaining a sense of fiscal responsibility.  In my first term as your representative, I worked “across the aisle” to get results for Iowans by viewing problems from a long-term perspective, rather than finding a short-term gain.

I am proud of what we have accomplished in the last two years – things that are important to you including expanded health care coverage, renewable energy research and development, restoring our education system, fostering Iowa’s lifestyle, and many other important issues.  But, we can do better; a lot of work is yet to be done and that is why I am seeking re-election.  I want to be your voice in Des Moines.  I want to continue working for a progressive future and a legislature that works for you.  The opportunity to serve you is an honor and one that I will never take lightly.
